Emergency floods are designed to fitted to a truss or roof and in the event of power failure, they illuminate and stay on for around 2 hours.
This form of lighting should be used for public events, where it is open to the general public or people pay to attend. These fixtures stay on and if there is a power failure, they shall remain on for 3 hours due to the built in batteries.
EMERGENCY EXIT - MAINTAINED
Emergency lighting requirements can vary depending on the fire officer, but generally if your event is a public one (ie where people pay to attend), then you should use maintained lighting. If you are holding a private function, then non-maintained lighting can be used.
This form of lighting can be used for private events. The fixtures will only light up in event of a power failure and will remain lit for 3 hours as they have built in batteries.
